New Taipei Wanjinshi Marathon @2016.03.20
Gotta admit: I didn't feel like running today. That said, I really did do my best.
Today's moodiness was one thing, another was that nature called a few times. It was my first time to urinate (twice today) while racing, at 18th km and 37th km respectively. Even felt like defecating 😒at the closing stages, fortunately the wretched feeling subsided as I progressed. Probably because of waking up too early this morning with actually no time to "lighten weight".
The course was a little bit boring at best. Fellow Taiwanese participants were a far cry from Japanese ones in races in Japan. The aura failed to galvanise me as a whole. When they were dragging feet, I seemed to be dragging as well.
There were ten or so points of crowd supports throughout the course, most of them aged or kids. For a course actually made up of highways, you simply can't complain about that.
Felt fortunate as well it didn't rain today. My only complaint was the tunnel section (@2nd-3rd km, and 40th-41st km), where ventilation was so poor that I perspired quite a lot there.
Felt honoured to be given this medal by 陳彥博 at the finish.
