2 respectable things to thank: 合歡山, what a beautiful mountain! It's very difficult to find a better place to run! And 陽明山! I went maybe 15 times there in 2016 and it helped me.
I ran 28 km but my legs are more tired than if I run a marathon.
Overall 7th after km 1. Overall 1st between km 5 and km 11. 2 km before the top of 合歡山, I was still very quick to climb but the first guy overtook me, very easy. On the top, I was 1 min behind the 1st one and 2 min before the 3rd one. At the end, 6 min 30 after the 1st one and still 2 min before the 3rd one.
清境農場 - 合歡山: 14.3 km: 1 h 19 min 39 (5:34/km)
合歡山 - 清境農場: 13.6 km: 59 min 44 (4:23/km)
In totally: 27.9 km: 2 h 19 min 23 (5:00/km)
The marathon (43 km) is very crazy: very steep at the end (slope >10-15%) + difference of 13-18 degrees between the beginning and the top (hard to know which clothes to wear) + strong sun mountain with no trees on the track (higher UV light) (I know why the race is in December now) + need to run 43 km. It's very challenging! Looks so hard that I'm considering to try it next year....
Next race: 鎮西堡 and maybe after rest for 3/4 months! 賽前宣言: The most exciting race. It is going to be hard to sleep the night before!
Hope to do a nice race for my girlfriend ( 100 km by car to go to 合歡山 and 100 km to come back).
The environment is favorable for me: big climb of 13.5 km at the beginning and 27 km totally (25-30 km is I think the best for me atm) but it is the first time I will run at high altitude and first time I will climb a hard mountain like 合歡山. Lets wait and see!
